Atlanta Mayor commits up to $12 million for public art

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed announced a major commitment to the arts during the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau’s annual meeting on April 30. As part of the $250 infrastructure bond recently passed in Atlanta, he said between $8 million and $12 million would be devoted to public art. Reed called it the “the biggest investment in public art in one single spend in the history of Atlanta.” He said more conversation would come as to what kinds of public art would be funded by the money and…
