Metro Atlanta unemployment declines to 6.1 percent in February

Metro Atlanta’s unemployment rate for February was 6.1 percent, down one-tenth of a percentage point from 6.2 percent in January, the Georgia Department of Labor said early Thursday. The rate in February 2014 was 7.1 percent. The rate declined as employers created more jobs and had fewer layoffs, the agency said.
