Georgia school official named ‘National Superintendent of the Year’

Clarke County School Superintendent Philip Lanoue is the National Superintendent of the Year. Lanoue learned Thursday he'd won the honor over three finalists, reports Athens Banner-Herald. The other finalists were from Tampa, Fla., Arlington, Va., and Donaldsville, La. Lanoue was named Georgia's Superintendent of the Year in December. He previously was an assistant county school superintendent in Cobb County.

Teradata names Fair and Wimmer co-presidents

Teradata Corp. (NYSE: TDC) named Bob Fair and Hermann Wimmer co-presidents. The Atlanta-based data warehousing company said Fair will lead the Teradata Marketing Applications Division and Wimmer will head the Teradata Data and Analytics Division. Fair is formerly Teradata's executive vice president and chief marketing and information officer. Floor & Décor expands to Savannah

Atlanta-based Floor & Décor will open a 68,000-square-foot retail store and design center on Saturday in Savannah. The store is the retailer's first location in the coastal city. The store, near the intersection of Victory Drive and the Truman Parkway, will initially employ about 40 people , the Savannah Morning News reports. Floor & Decor sells ceramic, stone, tile, wood and laminate flooring.

Liberty CEO: No plans to sell Braves

Liberty Media Corp. has no plans to sell the Atlanta Braves, its CEO told securities analysts Wednesday.
