
The NFL has suspended its blackout policy for the 2015 season, meaning no Falcons' games - or those of any NFL team - will be blacked out in local TV markets.
The blackout rule goes back to the 1970s when the NFL relied heavily on ticket sales to generate revenue, according to Around the NFL. If a game wasn't sold out 72 hours prior to kickoff, it would not be televised in local markets.
