Michael Berlon, a former lawyer and former Georgia Democratic Party chairman, has pleaded guilty to one count of federal wire fraud and will be sentenced on May 6, the Daily Report is reporting.
Berlon faces a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and a maximum fine of $250,000, according to the plea agreement.
Berlon entered his guilty plea Feb. 25. In return for the guilty plea, the U.S. Attorney's Office agreed to drop the remaining 10 charges against Berlon, the Daily Report said.
