Kennesaw approves plan for shopping center, 180 senior-living apartments

The Kennesaw City Council has approved a plan for 305,000 square feet of retail shopping space and 180 senior-living apartments. The project is planned for a 52-acre section of what is now a trailer park on the corner of Barrett and Cobb parkways, reports Marietta Daily Journal. The development was initially approved in 2014, but in a different form with less housing, the MDJ reports. MARTA bill clears Georgia Senate with surprise change

MARTA would gain more spending flexibility and could end up with more taxing leeway under legislation passed by the Georgia Senate. Senators voted at around midnight Tuesday to permanently abolish the so-called “50/50 split” in the disposition of sales tax revenue the transit agency collects from the city of Atlanta and Fulton, DeKalb and Clayton counties. Software startup SalesLoft has raised $10.15 million in a Series A round led by Emergence Capital, a Silicon Valley venture firm that was an early investor in Salesforce.com. Equifax names Trey Loughran chief marketing officer

Equifax Inc. promoted Joseph M. "Trey" Loughran to chief marketing officer. He replaces Paul Springman, who has retired after 24 years with the Atlanta-based company.
