Report: 3 metro Atlanta women pulled data from Ancestry.com to file false tax returns

Three Atlanta-area women are accused of running a $2 million tax fraud scheme using personal information they pulled from the Ancestry.com website, WSB-TV is reporting. The women used Social Security numbers obtained from the website to file bogus tax returns, officials say. WSB reports that many of the Social Security numbers belonged to people who are deceased, according to a criminal indictment filed with the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
